10-227 Thursday July 1st at 12:16 pm Rescue 11 was dispatched to assist Medic 1 with an unconscious/ unresponsive person at 555 Marion Road, Kroger’s Store. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 12:18 pm. Checked out the patient and returned to quarters at 12:40 pm.
10-228 Thursday July 1st at 6:02 pm Rescue 11 responded to the intersection of State Route 95 and Road 115 for an MVC. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 6:13 pm finding 2 cars with severe damage. Firefighters assisted EMS with the victims and checked the vehicles for leaks. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 6:28 pm.
10-229 Thursday July 1st at 11:05 pm Station 19 was dispatched to 397 South Delaware Street for an illegal burn at lot #21. Chief 101 responded direct to the scene with Brush 12. Chief 101 arrived on scene at 11:18 pm and advised that the fire was illegal in that location. It was also determined that there were finished wood in the fire and that it would have to be extinguished. The occupant became very agitated and smarted off. The fire was extinguished by the occupant and Chief 101 and Brush 12 returned to quarters at 11:26 pm.
10-230 Saturday July 3rd at 3:48 am Brush 12 and Engine 10 responded MA to Station 39 to assist Medic 3 with a full code on road 124. Station 39 had no response. Units arrived on scene at 3:55 am, assisted EMS with the patient, provided a driver for the squad and then returned to quarters at 4:45 am.
10-231 Saturday July 3rd at 12:11 pm Station 19 was dispatched to the area of Road 27 and Road 28 for a person entangled in an elevator chain. Unit 19-21 was in the area and located the incident. When Medic 1 arrived on scene the victim was not entangled and cancelled Rescue 11. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 12:21 pm.
10-232 Saturday July 3rd at 7:37 pm Rescue 11 responded to 429 West State Street for a residential fire alarm. Rescue 11 responded at 7:42 pm and arrived on scene at 7:46 pm. The owner met the firefighters and advised that the alarm was reset immediately after it alarmed and the alarm company was not to call. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 7:57 pm.
10-233 Sunday July 4th at 2:57 pm Station 19 was dispatched to assist Medic 1 with a unresponsive person on Road 237. Engine 10 and Brush 12 responded arriving on scene at 3:02 pm. Firefighters assisted the EMS crew, drove the Medic to MCH and then returned to quarters at 3:30 pm
10-234 Wednesday July 7th at 7:51 pm Brush 12 responded to 110 Union Street in Edison for a reported illegal burn. Brush 12 arrived on scene at 8:04 pm and had the owner extinguish the fire. The owner’s burn permit had expired last December. They were advised to renew the permit. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 8:09 pm.
10-235 Thursday July 8th at 6:23 am Engine 15 was dispatched to 4136 Martel Road, General Mills plant for a fire alarm. As Engine 15 was responding, they were cancelled by First Consolidated on the scene. No Equipment responded.
10-236 Saturday July 10th at 10:44 am Chief 101 was notified that there was a strong odor of natural gas between the Post Office and the First Baptist Church in the alley. Chief 101 arrived on scene with the gas detector and found a large concentration of gas in the storm sewer behind the Post Office. Columbia gas was notified at 10:50 am. Captain 105 and Firefighter 19-08 arrived on scene and the basement of the Post Office and Baptist Church were checked with nothing found. Several areas in the street gas was detected, in the water shut off in the street, coming through the cracks in the pavement and in the grass along the street. Columbia gas arrived on scene at 11:49 am. After explaining the situation to the representative all firefighters and Chief 101 left the scene at 12:15 pm. Columbia gas determined that there was a strong enough leak that they were going to dig it up immediately.
10-237 Saturday July 10th at 8:16 pm Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 39 for a working structure fire at 6884 Road 29. Tanker 14 arrived on scene at 8:38 pm dumped water and responded to the fill site. At 9:48 pm Tanker 14 was released to return to quarters arriving at 10:30 pm.
10-238 Sunday July 11th at 4:48 pm Rescue 11 and Engine 30 were dispatched to I-71 mm 153 for an MVC. Engine 30 arrived on scene at 5:01 pm with Medic 1. Rescue 11 staged at the intersection. Medic 1 advised that Rescue 11 could go in service they were not needed on the scene. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 5:18 pm.
10-239 Monday July 12th at 4:48 pm Chief 101 responded to 4408 State Route 95 for a reported CO detector alarming with no symptoms. Brush 12 arrived on scene at 4:53 pm to find an alarm sound coming from the basement. Entering the basement with the CO meter a very old smoke detector was alarming. The owner asked that the detector be removed. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 5:01 pm.
10-240 Wednesday July 14th at 11:32 Station 19 was dispatched to 720 North Main Street for an activated fire alarm at Lot #14. Rescue 11 had responded to the square when the call was cancelled. The occupant had called in and advised that there was no fire and the button was pushed by accident. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:35 am.
10-241 Wednesday July 14th at 8:54 pm Station 19 was alerted about heavy black smoke in the area of Westview Drive. Chief 101 and Firefighter 19-07 responded to the area and determined that the fire was behind the old HPM Plant #2 building. Arriving on scene at 8:58 pm. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 9:03pm and had to cut the bolts to the gate to enter. The fire was a dumpster full of wire that someone was burning and had left the scene. City PD searched the area for the person. Rescue 11, Chief 101 and Firefighter 19-07 returned to quarters at 9:25 pm.
10-242 Thursday July 15th at 10:32 am Rescue 11 and Engine 10 responded to I-71 for a pickup and camper rollover with entrapment. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 10:45 am. Firefighters opened the driver door, held C-spine and assisted with the removal of both patients. Rescue 11 turned the scene over to OSP and returned to quarters at 11:24 am.
10-243 Friday July 16th at 2:00 am Tanker 14 responded MA with Fredericktown Fire for a working house fire at 5785 Yankee Street in Knox County. Tanker 14 arrived on scene at 2:21 am and supplied water until released at 2:26 am returning to quarters at 3:00 am.
10-244 Friday July 16th at 10:44 am Rescue 11 responded to the rear of 28 South Main Street for a natural gas leak in the basement. Firefighters determined that he leak was coming through the wall with the gas pipe. An attempt to shut off the gas was made, but there was a lot of debris in the hole. The Gas Company arrived on scene at 11:02 am and after using a special tool to clean the hole the gas was shut off at 11:49 am. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:51 am.
10-245 Saturday July 17th at 4:34 pm Station 19 was notified of a gas odor at 5248 Road 108. Engine 15 responded at 4:44 pm and arrived in the area at 4:57 pm. The odor was from an old oil well and nothing of an7 danger. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 5:16 pm.
10-246 Saturday July 17th at 10:47 pm Rescue 11 responded to a fire alarm at 371 South Delaware Street, Apt. #2. Upon arrival firefighters found burned food on the stove. The alarm was reset and Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:27 pm.
10-247 Sunday July 18th at 5:41 pm Rescue 11 responded to an MVC at the intersection of East Union Street and North Main Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found a 2 car MVC with damage to both vehicles. Firefighters assisted with the patients and removed the battery cables from both vehicles. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 8:00 pm.
10-248 Monday July 19th at 6:05 am Lieutenant 108 was contacted about water coming form the building. Lieutenant 108 responded and found that there was a water leak in the basement and that there was 2” of water. The village water department shut off the leak and the water was draining naturally. Lieutenant 108 left the scene at 7:05 am.
10-249 Tuesday July 20th at 12:16 am Station 19 was dispatched for assistance to Medic 2 on Marion Road. Firefighters arrived on scene at 12:18 am and assisted with the patient, then returned to quarters at 12:29 am.
10-250 Thursday July 22nd at 6:47 pm Station 19 firefighters were dispatched to assist Medic 1 with a patient at 5565 St Rt 95. Firefighters arrived on scene at 6:56 pm and returned to quarters at 7:06 pm.
10-251 Thursday July 22nd at 7:12 pm Brush 12 responded non emergency to 218 South Main Street for a reported illegal burn. Brush 12 arrived on scene at 7:14 pm finding that the fire was built to close to the garage per regulations and common sense. The occupants were advised and the fire was extinguished. Earlier the City PD advised them to put the fire out.
10-252 Sunday July 25th at 2:14 pm Rescue 11 responded to an MVC on I-71 at the 152 mm. Engine 30 responded MA and was on the scene advising Rescue 11 that they could cancel. Rescue 11 cancelled and returned to quarters at 3:00 pm.
10-253 Sunday July 25th at 5:19 pm Rescue 11 responded MA to an MVC at 6000 St Rt 95 in front of the Duke Station. Engine 30 was also dispatched. Rescue 11 was cancelled at 5:26 pm returning to quarters.
10-254 Monday July 26th at 12:59 pm Rescue 11 and Tanker 14 responded to 6284 Road 179 for a possible house fire. Rescue 11 and Tanker 14 arrived on scene at 1:15 pm and stood-by as the RIT team. All units were released at 1:20 pm returning to quarters at 1:35 pm.
10-255 Tuesday July 27th at 5:49 am Brush 12 and Firefighter 19-14 responded to 4729 Road 96 for a reported missing person. Firefighters searched until it was determined that the person was not at the location. All equipment was released to return to quarters at 6:39 am.
10-256 Tuesday July 27th at 3:00 pm Rescue 11 was dispatched to the Fair Grounds for wires down. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 3:05 pm finding that wires were down across the driveway. Firefighters taped off the area and waited until the power company could arrive. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 3:35 pm.
10-257 Saturday July 31st at 3:18 am Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 59 for a mobile home fire at 7117 Road 59. Tanker 14 arrived on scene at 3:36 am, dumped a load of water and returned to quarters at 4:21 am.
10-258 Saturday July 31st at 8:28 pm Engine 15 and Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 49 for a house fire at 8800 Road 34. Engine 15 arrived on scene at 8:53 pm. Firefighters were assigned to be RIT and then sent inside to locate the cause of the fire. Chief 101 was assigned the “C” side command. Engine 15 and Tanker 14 were released at 9:26 pm returning to quarters at 10:00 pm.
