10-159 Sunday May 2nd at 9:52 am Brush 12 responded to a pole fire at 245 Neal Avenue. Brush 12 responded at 9:56 am finding an electrical short and the pole burning. Firefighters controlled the fire and Ohio Edison was notified. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 10:55 am. 10-160 Monday May 3rd at 11:16 pm Station 19 was dispatched to assist Medic 1 & 9 for a patient at 5361 C R 117. Two firefighters responded in Brush 12 and two in private vehicles arriving on scene at 11:30 pm. Firefighters assisted with the patient, drove M9 vehicle to MCH and then returned to quarters at 11:54 pm. 10-161 Wednesday May 5th at 11:44 am Rescue 11 responded to 3576 S R 309 when Station 49 did not respond. Rescue 11 was cancelled when Station 49 arrived on scene and found that the situation was remedied. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 12:03 pm. 10-162 Sunday May 9th at 5:05 am Station 19 was dispatched to 6680 Road 14 to assist Medic 1 & 9 with a full code. Brush 12 and two firefighters in their POVs arrived on scene at 5:21 am. Firefighters assisted with the patient and by driving vehicles to MCH. All firefighters returned to quarters at 6:37 am. 10-164 Tuesday May 11th at 3:17 pm Station 19 was dispatched to the area North of Chartwell for a loud gas leak sound. Columbia gas was purging the system and had told dispatch that they would be finished at about 2:00 pm. Rescue 11 checked the area to find that the purging was continuing and there was no danger. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 3:30 pm. 10-165 Tuesday May 11th at 6:34 pm Station 19 was dispatched to 371 South Delaware Street for a fire alarm in apartment 102. Firefighters arrived on station at 6:34 pm when Fire Control received a call form the occupant advising that there was burned food on the stove and that there was no fire. No equipment responded and firefighters left the station at 6:45 pm. 10-166 Wednesday May 12th at 7:27 am Station 19 was dispatched MA with Station 29 for a working apartment fire at 124 Third Street in Cardington. Tower 18 responded at 7:32 am and reached the edge of Cardington when cancelled at 7:39 am. Tower 18 returned to quarters at 7:53 am. 10-167 Wednesday May 12th at 8:53 am Tower 18 was dispatched MA with Station 29 for a fire on the roof at CYT at 575 West Main Street in Cardington. Tower 18 responded at 8:55 am and was cancelled at 8:58 am when company workers had the fire extinguished. Tower 18 returned to quarters at 9:02 am. 10-168 Thursday May 13th at 7:04 pm Rescue 11 and Tanker 14 responded to a reported commercial vehicle fire on I-71 at the 154 NB. OSP called and advised that the turbo blew on the truck and that there was no fire. All units cancelled at 7:12 pm returning to quarters at 7:23 pm. 10-169 Friday May 14th at 3:32 pm Brush 12 responded to 4673 Road 61 to assist Medic 5 with lifting when Station 59 could not respond. Brush 12 arrived on the scene at 3:37 pm and was in service at 3:38 pm. As Brush 12 was returning it was dispatched on another run. 10-170 Friday May 14th at 3:41 pm Brush 12 responded to 7073 Road 97 to assist Medic 1 with moving a patient. Brush 12 arrived on scene at 3:57 pm, assisted with the patient. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 4:10 pm. 10-171 Friday May 14th at 8:22 pm Rescue 11 responded to 254 North Cherry Street for a CO alarm. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 8:42 pm with A C 103 and determined that the CO detector was faulty and advised the owner to have it replaced. All units returned to quarters at 8:51 pm. 10-172 Saturday May 15th at 4:30 am Tower 18 was dispatched MA with Station 29 for reported smoke on the Cardington High School building. Cardington Captain 204 arrived on scene and held all MA equipment on station believing the vapor was steam. Station 19 remained on station until 4:46 am when all MA equipment was released. 10-173 Saturday May 15th at 6:20 pm Rescue 11 responded to West Union Street for a vehicle fire. A car owned by Douglas Lopez was fully involved in fire when firefighters arrived at 6:25 pm. Firefighters extinguished the fire at 7:10 pm and returned to quarters at 7:20 pm. The vehicle was a total loss. The fire had started in the left rear brake area of the vehicle. He vehicle was insured. 10-174 Sunday May 16th at 10:49 am Brush 12 responded to I-71 mm 151 for a reported grass fire in the median. Brush 12 was cancelled by OSP at 11:04 am after they had searched the area finding no fire. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 11:14 am. 10-175 Monday May 17 at 11:55 pm Station 19, 29 and 59 were dispatched to a working house fire at 294 Bank Street. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 12:07 am finding a fully involved house fire with fire coming out the front (A Side) and right (D Side) windows. Firefighters attempted to enter the structure by the front door, but were unable to due to an obstruction in front of the door. Firefighters then moved to the breezeway door leading into the kitchen and moved toward the fire room. Firefighters experienced heavy smoke and high heat as they moved through the structure. Engine 15 and Tower 18 arrived on scene at 12:09 am, Engine 23 arrived on scene at 12:12 am and Engine 50 arrived on scene at 12:21 am. Due to circumstances at the scene the State Fire Marshal was notified at 12:52 am and arrived on scene at 1:53 am. All mutual aid equipment was released at 1:09 am. Firefighters remained on the scene until 05:00 am. Clean up was completed at 06:00 am. The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal and Mt. Gilead City PD. 10-176 Wednesday May 19th at 1:06 am Rescue 11 responded with Medic 1 to an MVC involving a single car. Rescue 11 and Medic 1 arrived on scene at 1:13 pm. Firefighters assisted with moving the patient from the car to the squad and then returned to quarters at 2:00 pm. 10-177 Thursday May 20th at 11:34 am Rescue 11 was dispatched to 294 Bank Street for possible smoke. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 11:39 am and investigated finding dust in the air floating through a sun beam looking like smoke. Firefighters checked the area and determined that there was no smoke. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:58 am. 10-178 Saturday May 22nd at 10:33 pm Rescue 11 responded with medic 1 to 270 West Marion Street to a non injury MVC. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 10:35 and was released at 10:41 pm. 10-179 Saturday May 22nd at 10:42 pm Rescue 11 was dispatched to 42 East Center Street at the 9-1-1 center for a fire alarm. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 10:44 pm. After checking the structure found nothing that would have set off the detectors. The system was reset. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:18 pm. 10-180 Sunday May 23rd at 4:00 am Station 19 was dispatched MA with Station 29 for a possible occupied house fire at 201 South Marion Street in Cardington. Cardington firefighters found someone cooking on the porch and the smoke was from the cook fire. All equipment was cancelled at 4:06 am. 10-181 Monday May 24th at 2:28 am another false alarm was reported at 42 East Center Street at the 9-1-1 Center. Firefighters investigated the scene and then shut off the alarm since it had been going off every few minutes. The owner of the structure was notified of the situation at 2:43 am. 10-182 Tuesday May 25th at 5:50 pm Brush 12 and Tanker 14 responded to Hidden Lakes for a reported grass pile fire. Units arrived on scene at 6:01 pm finding a large pile of yard waste on fire. The fire was extinguished and units left the scene at 6:36 pm returning to quarters at 6:50 pm. 10-183 Thursday May 27th at 10:16 am Station 19 was notified of a residential fire alarm at 715 Baker Street. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 10:21 am finding light smoke in the house. A key was located and entry made to find a pan on the stove with contents on fire. Firefighters removed the pan and extinguished the fire. The home was aired out and then the occupant arrived from the store. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 10:50 am. 10-184 Saturday May 29th at 7:58 am Firefighters responded with Medic 1 and (on Marion Street for an unconscious/unresponsive person. Firefighters arrived on scene at 8:00 am and assisted Medic 1 with moving the patient to the truck. One firefighter drove the Medic to MCH. All firefighters were released at 8:47 am. 10-185 Sunday May 30th at 11:41 pm Engine 15 was dispatched MA as a RIT truck with Station 59 for a house fire. Engine 15 responded at 11:47 pm. While enroute Station 59 units arrived on scene and cancelled the RIT truck at 11:52 pm returning to station by 11:59 pm.
