08-074 Saturday March 1st at 2:47 pm Engine 15 responded MA to Chesterville for smoke in the community room at Morrow Manor. Units from Chesterville, Fredericktown, Mt. Gilead and Marengo were on the scene and investigated. A wall heater was determined to be the cause of the smoke. Engine 15 was released at 3:32 pm and returned to station at 3:45 pm.

08-075 Monday March 3rd at 9:03 pm Station 19 was dispatched to an MVC at 544 West High Street in Edison. Chief 101 returning form a Assistance to Firefighters Grant seminar saw Chief Christy of Mt. Vernon stopped along the road with the victim. Chief 101 assisted with the victim advising to cancel the second squad and the fire department. All fire department personnel left the scene at 9:07 pm.
08-076 Tuesday March 4th at 1:45 pm Engine 15 responded to the area of Center Street and the Library book drop off for a medical response providing assistance until squad 2 from Cardington could arrive. Squad 1 from Mt. Gilead was tie up on another emergency. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 1:56 pm.

08-077 Tuesday March 4th at 3:35 pm Brush 12 and two firefighters responded with squad 1 to assist with a patient on the second floor. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 3:46 pm.

08-078 Tuesday March 4th at 5:13 pm Engine 15 responded non-emergency to road 14 for a reported CO alarm alerting with no symptoms. Firefighters checked the house with two detectors finding no CO. The unit was checked and the terminals for the batteries were slightly corroded. The terminal was cleaned and the batteries were replaced and all seemed well. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 6:10 pm.

08-079 Tuesday March 4th at 7:12 pm Brush 12 responded to the intersection of road 76 and road 99 for live electric wires across the roadway. Brush 12 protected the scene until 9:03 pm when a Sheriff Deputy secured the scene.

08-080 Tuesday March 4th at 8:03 pm Engine 15, Tanker 14 and Rescue 11 responded to road 00 for a report of electric wires and a tree limb lying on a propane tank. When units arrived at 8:12 pm the wires were no longer live and the tree was not on the tank. However one of the three electric lines was still alive. Firefighters checked the area for hazards and returned to quarters at 8:50 pm.

08-081 Tuesday March 4th at 9:59 pm Engine 15 responded to road 99 for a report of a transformer on fire. When Engine 15 arrived on the scene the fire was from the third electric wire with the tree limb hanging on it. The firefighters stood-by until the main fuse shut off the power to the line. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 10:36 pm. The last three responses were due to the freezing rain ice buildup on the wires.

08-098 March 14th at 1:16 pm Engine 15 responded to road 76 to check a residence for a propane leak inside the building. The owner stopped at the station and requested the inspection. It was determined that there was a leak and advised the owner to have a professional replace the fittings and line. Engine 5 returned to quarters at 2:00 pm.

 

08-099 March 15th at 9:44 am Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 39 for a structure fire on road 25 in Harmony Township. Thank 14 arrived on the scene at 9:59 am and was released at 11:00 am returning to quarters at 11:30 am.

 

08-100 March 16th at 11:12 am Engine 10 and Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 39 to the Truck Plaza at I-71 and St Rt 95 for a truck fire. Engine 10 arrived on the scene 11:28 am. Engine 30 arrived on the scene 11:23 am. Engine 10 was released at 11:51 am and returned to quarters at 12:12 pm.

 

08-101 March 17th at 5:39 am firefighters were dispatched to assist Squad 1 and Medic 9 with a full code on Lee Street. Firefighters assisted with CPR, assisted carrying the patient to the squad and drove the squad to MCH. All members were released at 6:00 am.

 

08-102 March 19th at 3:07 am Engine 15, Tower 18, Squad 1 and Medic 9 responded to a reported kitchen fire at 367 South Delaware Street. Upon arrival on the scene firefighters found that the occupant had started her oven to clean and it was burning off inside. Firefighters shut off the stove, opened the windows and aired out the hallways and apartments. All units returned to quarters at 4:00 am.

 

08-103 March 19th at 4:16 pm Tanker 14 responded with Station 39 and 59 on a possible structure fire on St Rt 95 East between road 253 and road 23 in Chesterville. Tanker 14 was released at 5:00 pm returning to quarters at 5:18 pm.

 

08-104 March 20th at 10:12 am Station 19 was dispatched to a fire alarm at Gilead Christian School on road 115. The school called and advised dispatch that it was a false alarm at 10:13 am and all equipment was cancelled

 

08-105 March 20th at 7:16 pm Engine 15 and Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 59 to 6362 road 100 for a residential fire alarm. Homeowner called back and had all equipment cancelled. Engine 15 and Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 7:45 pm.

 

08-106 March 21st at 1:36 pm Engine 15 responded MA with Squad 1 for a victim on US 42 South. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 1:40 pm and returned to quarters at 2:10 pm. Firefighters assisted with the victim and drove the squad to MCH.

 

08-107 Saturday March 22nd at 11:10 pm Engine 15 and Rescue 11 responded to 133 North Vine Street for a car fire beside a garage. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 11:15 pm, attacked the fire with a 1 ¾” pre-connected hose knocking the fire down at 11:19 pm. All units returned to quarters at 11:45 pm. All firefighters were released after cleaning the trucks at 12:00 pm.

 

08-108 Sunday March 23rd at 2:16 am Engine 10 responded MA to Station 310 (Ashley – Elm Valley) for a house fire. Engine 10 arrived on the scene at 2:37 am, assisted with overhaul and then returned to quarters at 4:33 am.

 

08-109 Monday March 24th at 9:06 am Engine 15 responded to North Cherry Street to assist Squad 1 with a reported non-breather. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 9:08 am and was advised that the patient was breathing and they were enroute to MCH. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 9:15 am.

08-100 March 16th at 11:12 am Engine 10 and Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 39 to the Truck Plaza at I-71 and St Rt 95 for a truck fire. Engine 10 arrived on the scene 11:28 am. Engine 30 arrived on the scene 11:23 am. Engine 10 was released at 11:51 am and returned to quarters at 12:12 pm.

 

08-101 March 17th at 5:39 am firefighters were dispatched to assist Squad 1 and Medic 9 with a full code on Lee Street. Firefighters assisted with CPR, assisted carrying the patient to the squad and drove the squad to MCH. All members were released at 6:00 am.

08-104 March 20th at 10:12 am Station 19 was dispatched to a fire alarm at Gilead Christian School on road 115. The school called and advised dispatch that it was a false alarm at 10:13 am and all equipment was cancelled

 

08-105 March 20th at 7:16 pm Engine 15 and Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 59 to 6362 road 100 for a residential fire alarm. Homeowner called back and had all equipment cancelled. Engine 15 and Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 7:45 pm.

08-107 Saturday March 22nd at 11:10 pm Engine 15 and Rescue 11 responded to 133 North Vine Street for a car fire beside a garage. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 11:15 pm, attacked the fire with a 1 ¾” pre-connected hose knocking the fire down at 11:19 pm. All units returned to quarters at 11:45 pm. All firefighters were released after cleaning the trucks at 12:00 pm.

 

08-108 Sunday March 23rd at 2:16 am Engine 10 responded MA to Station 310 (Ashley – Elm Valley) for a house fire. Engine 10 arrived on the scene at 2:37 am, assisted with overhaul and then returned to quarters at 4:33 am.

 

08-109 Monday March 24th at 9:06 am Engine 15 responded to North Cherry Street to assist Squad 1 with a reported non-breather. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 9:08 am and was advised that the patient was breathing and they were enroute to MCH. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 9:15 am.

08-110 Tuesday March 25th at 11:39 am Engine 15 responded to an MVC at Baker Street and Marion Road. After investigation there were no injuries and no hazardous fluids were leaking. Fire fighters disconnected the battery and returned to quarters at 11:48 am.

 

08-111 Tuesday March 25th at 12:59 pm Engine 15 and Tanker 14 responded with Station 59 to a working house fire on road 81. Firefighters assisted with fire suppression and were released at 2:29 pm and returned to quarters at 2:46 pm. Firefighters were finished cleaning up at 4:30 pm.

 

08-112 Wednesday March 26th at 1:36 PM Engine 15, E-20 and E-50 responded to 103 West High Street in Edison for a reported fire alarm and smoke around the building. Engine 15 arrived on the scene, gained entrance and discovered an illegal burn in the neighborhood causing the smoke. The alarm sound was thought to be coming from the wastewater pumping station. At that time it was not in alarm. Firefighters checked all floors of the structure and determined everything was clear. All MA units were cancelled and Engine 15 returned to quarters at 1:15 pm.

 

08-113 Thursday March 27th at 12:56 pm Engine 15 responded MA with Squad 1 to North Main Street for a full arrest. Firefighters assisted with patient and provided a driver to MCH. All equipment returned to quarters at 1:30 pm.

 

08-114 Thursday March 27th at 9:11 pm Engine 15 and Tanker 14 responded to road 172 MA with Station 39 for a possible house furnace fire, lots of smoke in the house. Units arrived on the scene at 9:24 pm and advised the furnace had malfunctioned and all units could cancel. Engine 15 and Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 12:05 pm.

 

08-115 Friday March 28th at 11:46 AM Engine 15, E-20 and E-50 responded to 103 West High Street in Edison for a reported fire alarm sounding at he school. Engine 15 arrived on the scene and determined that there was no fire alarm. The alarm sound was thought to be coming from the wastewater pumping station. At that time it was not in alarm. Firefighters checked all floors of the structure and determined everything was clear. All MA units were cancelled and Engine 15 returned to quarters at 12:15 pm. Edison village was notified to check the pumping station for an alarm to try to eliminate the alarm.

 

08-116 Saturday March 29th at 1:01 pm Station 19 was dispatched to stand-by for a possible structure fire at 314 Park Avenue in Cardington. Units were released at 1:10 pm.

 

08-117 Monday March 31st at 7:18 am Station 19 was dispatched to stand-by for a possible structure fire at 427 Gregory Street in Cardington. Units arrived on the scene, determined that it was a chimney fire and Station 19 was put on stand-by. Units were released at 8:10 am.
