09-336 Tuesday December 1st at 6:23 pm Rescue 11 responded to an MVC at 5310 Road 20. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 6:36 pm finding a vehicle over an embankment into some small trees. Firefighters disconnected the battery and Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 6:54 pm.

09-337 Wednesday December 2nd at 4:22 pm Tower 18 was requested MA with 1st Consolidated for smoke in the Verizon building at 1300 St Rt 98. Tower 18 was cancelled at 4:25 pm.

09-338 Thursday December 3rd to 9:05 am Rescue 11 responded MA with Medic 1 to East Union Street for an unconscious/unresponsive person. Rescue 11 was released at 9:12 pm.

09-339 Friday December 4th at 10:35 am responded to a report of burning plastic in an apartment at 337 West High street. Firefighters investigated the apartment and could find nothing. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:00 am.

09-340 Friday December 4th at 11:47 am, another report of an odor at 337 West High Street. Again nothing was found. The owner of the house was called and arrived on the scene. Firefighters returned to quarters at 12:15 pm.

09-341 Sunday December 6th at 7:09 am Rescue 11, Engine 15, Tower 18, MA Engine 23 and Engine 50 were dispatched to a working house fire at 143 West High Street. A neighbor had seen fire coming from the outside wall of the house. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 7:15 am and put the fire under control. All MA equipment was cancelled at 7:28 am. Firefighters remained on the scene until 8:19 after determining that there were no additional hot spots. It was determined that the fire was caused by improper installation of a firebox and chimney. The installation was placed against the plaster and lath wall without removing any of the combustibles. All equipment returned to quarters at 8:21 am with clean up until 8:45 am.

09-342 Monday December 7th at 2:48 pm Brush 12 responded non-emergency to 106 Short Line Street in Edison for a possible illegal fire. Brush 12 arrived on the scene at 2:53 pm. Firefighters advised the person to stop burning and also of the burning regulations. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 3:11 pm.

09-343 Monday December 7th at 4:37 pm Tanker 14 was dispatched MA with Station 59 for a house fire at 7433 Road 29, the scene of a previous fire on November 28th. Tanker 14 remained on the scene until 4:59 pm when it was released. Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 5:30 pm.

09-344 Monday December 7th at 10:38 pm Station 19 was dispatched for a possible grain dryer fire on Road 237. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 10:50 pm. After investigating there was no fire found only steam. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 11:15 pm.

09-345 Tuesday December 8th at 2:49 pm Rescue 11 responded to 25 South Main Street for an unconscious person. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 2:50 pm and found the patient awake sitting in a chair. Medic 1 was on another response and Medic 2 was responding from Cardington. Medic 9 arrived on the scene at 2:57 pm. Firefighters turned over the scene to Medic 9 and 2 and returned to quarters at 3:00 pm.

09-346 Tuesday December 8th at 6:38 pm Rescue 11 responded to 504 West High Street for an odor of natural gas. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 6:44 pm. Firefighters investigated the area and could not find any source of natural gas. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 7:00 pm.

09-347 Wednesday December 9th at 11:15 pm Station 19 was dispatched to 531 Lee Street for a fire alarm activation. Chief 101 responded direct to the scene and arrived at 11:18 pm. After investigating it was determined that the ceiling fan at the top of the stairs was causing the smoke and odor. Rescue 11 and Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 11:20 pm. All equipment left the scene a to 11:43 pm.

09-348 Thursday December 10th at 8:44 am Rescue 11 and Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 49 for a possible house fire at 8564 Road 38. Rescue 11 and Tanker 14 arrived on the scene at 9:03 am. Station 49 investigated the fire and released Rescue 11 and Tanker 14 at 9:09 am. Clean up was complete at 9:44 am.

09-349 Thursday December 10th at 5:52 pm Rescue 11 responded to 110 East High Street for an ill person caused from chemicals released in his office. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 6:00 pm and left the scene at 8:04 pm.

09-350 Friday December 10th at 6:49 pm Rescue 11 responded to and MVC at the intersection of County Road 20 and Township Road 14. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 7:02 pm, disconnected the battery and assisted with the patients. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 7:18 pm.

09-351 Friday December 10th at 8:39 pm Rescue 11 and Tower 18 responded to East Union Street for a chimney fire. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 8:46 pm to find smoke coming from the basement area. Firefighter checked the basement and found fire in the cleanout hole at the base of the chimney. Firefighters cleaned the fire out of the stove and aired out the house. All equipment returned to quarters at 9:11 pm.

09-352 Sunday December 13th at 10:37 am Rescue 11 responded to 133 Iberia Street for a person down. Firefighters assisted Medic 1 with a full code and transportation to MCH. Firefighters returned to quarters at 11:13 am.

09-353 Sunday December 13th at 11:15 am Rescue 11 responded to a fuel leak on I-71 at the 151 mm. The leak was from a semi that had been involved in an MVC where the cab had been torn off of the running gears and the fuel tank had been ruptured. Firefighters put down absorbent pads, socks and powder to contain the spill. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 12:01 pm.

09-354 Monday December 14th at 12:24 am firefighters responded MA with Medic 1 for lifting. Firefighters returned to quarters at 1:53 am.

09-355 Monday December 14th at 11:13 am Rescue 11, Medic 1 and 9 were dispatched to 5260 US 42 for a CO check with symptoms. Rescue 11’s crew checked the residence and could not find any CO reading. The youngster was checked and nothing indicated there was a problem. Rescue 11 returned to quarters a 11:35 am.

09-356 Friday December 18th at 6:49 pm Station 19 was dispatched to investigate a fire at 3125 Road 69. Brush 12 was sent to investigate the scene. Upon arrival, Brush 12’s crew advised that it was a very large pile of brush and trees being burned in a field. Due to the wind, embers were blowing over onto some heavy machinery. The responsible person of the fire was called and requested to put the fire out. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 8:33 pm.

09-357 Saturday December 19th at 6:07 am Station 19 was dispatched for an MVC involving one car. Rescue 11 responded at 6:13 am. A squad member going home from duty stopped and advised that there was nothing leaking from the vehicle and the victim was out of the car. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 6:30 am.

09-358 Saturday December 19th at 6:47 pm Rescue 11 responded to 101 East High Street in Edison for a two car MVC. Medic 1 arrived on the scene at 6:50 pm and cancelled Rescue 11. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 6:52 pm.

09-359 Thursday December 24th at 5:45 pm Rescue 11 and Engine 15 responded to a reported two car MVC on State Route 61 South. Medic 1 and 9 arrived on the scene and advised that the second vehicle driver could not exit the car. Firefighters forced the driver door open and the driver crawled out uninjured. Rescue 11 and Engine 15 returned to quarters at 6:02 pm.

09-360 Friday December 25th at 4:08 pm Engine 15 and Tanker 14 responded MA with First Consolidated for a fire alarm at General Mills in Martel. Engine 15 and Tanker 14 arrived on scene at 4:29 pm and were released at 4:37 pm returning to quarters at 4:58 pm. While washing Engine 15 another run was dispatched.

09-361 Friday December 25th at 5:03 pm Engine 15 and Tanker 14 were dispatched MA with First Consolidated for a house fire at 1476 Salem Road in Marion County. Engine 15 and Tanker 14 arrived on the scene at 5:15 pm after Engine 112. Firefighters assisted 112’s crew with extinguishment of the fire in the upstairs bedroom. Engine 15 and Tanker 14 were released at 5:52 pm returning to quarters at 6:06 pm. Firefighters cleaned their equipment and left the station at 6:30 pm.

09-362 Friday December 25th at 7:25 pm Rescue 11 responded to 5317 CR 9 for a reported odor of propane in a house. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 7:34 pm and after investigating could not find anything. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 7:41 pm. After cleaning the truck firefighters left at 8:00 pm.

09-363 Saturday December 26th at 11:44 am Rescue 11 responded to 187 Iberia Street for a residential fire alarm. Chief 101 arrive don the scene at 11:46 am, could not gain entry, so walked around the house seeing nothing. Rescue 11 arrived at 11:47 am. A key holder arrived and firefighters checked the interior finding nothing. The alarm was reset and firefighters left the scene at 12:10 pm.

09-364 Sunday December 27th at 2:00 am Station 19, 39 and 59 were dispatched for a house fire at 6403 County Road 109. Rescue 11 responded at 2:05 am and arrived on the scene at 2:14 am to investigate. There was a chimney fire with flames 4 feet out the top of the chimney. Smoke was visible coming though some of the chimney brick. The fire was extinguished with dry powder bombs thrown down the chimney. Then a pike pole was used to loosen the creosote from the walls of the chimney. Firefighters gained access to the attic area and found light smoke in a void area above the main ceiling. After the fire was out and there were no fire extensions all equipment was released at 3:23 am. Units responding to this reported house fire were Rescue 11, Engine 15, Tanker 14, Brush 12, Engine 30, Tanker 36, Engine 50, Engine 53, Tanker 54, Brush 52, Medic 1, Medic 5 and Medic 9.

09-365 Tuesday December 29th at 10:13 am Chief 101 was called direct form the school by the acting foreman for smoke in a classroom. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 10:14 am and investigated the room recognizing the odor of electric motor burning. Upon investigation, the circuit breaker was tripped and would not reset. It was determined that there was not a problem with anything else in the room. Rescue 11 was released at 10:30 am, but stayed on the scene completing inspections at the school.
