08-382 Monday December 1st at 7:34 pm Rescue 11 was dispatched to a reported MVC on I-71 at the 156mm. EMS units arrived on the scene at 7:48 pm and cancelled the Rescue. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 7:59 pm.

 

08-383 Wednesday December 3rd at 7:35 am Rescue 11 was dispatched MA to Station 59 to a reported MVC on I-71 at the 156 mm. EMS units arrived on the scene and cancelled Rescue 11. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 7:51 am when they were dispatched to another MVC on road 80 MA to Station 59. Since Station 59 was already on I-71 Rescue 11 responded.

 

08-384 Wednesday December 3rd at 7:51 am Rescue 11 responded with Engine 50 to a reported MVC on road 80. Engine 50 arrived in the area and found where the vehicle had left the scene. Rescue 11 was cancelled and returned to quarters at 8:30 am.

 

08-385 Saturday December 6th at 2:18 pm Station 19 responded to a two car MVC at 4001 St. Rt. 61 South of Mt. Gilead. When EMS arrived on the scene they found on car in the roadway and the second car against a tree with the victim still in the car. As Rescue 11 arrived on the scene it was determined that the victim was entrapped. Firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle so the patient could be maintained in a straight line for removal. The victim was removed from the vehicle at 2:53 pm. A firefighter drove the squad to MCH. Rescue 11 returned to quarters after picking up the firefighter driver at 3:34 pm. After all equipment was cleaned, firefighters left the station at 4:00 pm.

 

08-386 Saturday December 6th at 5:34 pm Station 19 was dispatched to a two car MVC at 5277 St Rt 95 East bound. Medic 9 arrived on the scene at 5:38 pm and advised that this was a non-injury MVC and cancelled Station 19.

 

08-387 Sunday December 7th at 12:52 am Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 49 for a house fire at 2835 C R 59. Engine 15 was put on stand-by for a RIT engine. RIT Engine 15 was released from stand-by at 1:17 am. Tanker 14 continued to the scene arriving at 1:13 am. Tanker 14 was released at 1:18 am returning to quarters at 1:36 am. Firefighters left the station at 1:45 am after cleaning the truck.

 

08-388 Friday December 12th at 12:15 pm Rescue 11 responded MA with Engine 30 to an MVC on I-71 mm 148 S.B. for a vehicle off the roadway into a tree. Possibly two injuries at the scene. When emergency personnel arrived on the scene they found the driver not able to get out of the vehicle due to tree limbs in front of the door. Due to possible injuries the limbs were removed and a path was cleared to extricate the driver. The patient was loaded into the squad at 12:41 pm and all equipment returned to quarters at 1:14 pm. Rescue 11 was washed and returned to service at 1:45 pm.

 

08-389 Friday December 12th at 2:30 pm Station 19 was dispatched to I-71 mm 155 mm S.B. for a truck and a school bus involved in a MVC. When emergency personnel arrived on the scene it was determined that there were no injuries. Rescue 11 and Engine 30 arrived on the scene at 2:49 pm check out both vehicles and returned to quarters at 3:16 pm. It was 3:40 pm when Rescue 11 was cleaned and ready for service.

08-390 Monday December 15th at 7:19 pm Station 19 with Medic 9 and Squad 4 were dispatched to a chimney fire at 5955 St Rt 61 North. Rescue 11 and Tanker 14 Firefighter Kemp lives next door and went direct to the scene and advised that there was no smoke in the house and to drop to a non-emergency response.

08-391 Tuesday December 16th at 10:57 am employees from the main school kitchen called complaining of headaches and some nausea. Rescue 11 responded to the school and checked for CO from the stoves and other equipment. The main exhaust fan had not been running due to a fuse blowing. It had been repaired and just before we arrived the fan was working. The entire facility was checked with no CO found. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:15 am.

08-392 Tuesday December 16th at 11:49 am Rescue 11 was dispatched to 477 Dogwood Lane for a Knox Key to assist Medic 1 in gaining access to the patient. City PD Chief arrived on the scene and gained access. Rescue 11 was cancelled at 11:50 am before as it was responding.

08-393 Tuesday December 16th at 6:00 pm Station 19 was dispatched to 5917 SR 61 North for an MVC involving a car and a semi. Firefighter Kemp 1912 arrived on the scene within seconds noting that there were no injuries. Later it was determined that the driver of the car could not get out and the fire department responded to pop the drivers door. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 6:13 pm, extricated the lady at 6:19 pm and returned to quarters at 6:30 pm.

08-394 Wednesday December 17th at 5:01 pm Rescue 11, Tanker 14, Tanker 24, Squad 1 and Medic 9 were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 3034 Road 27. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 5:05 pm and determined that there was a strong odor in the air, with heavy smoke coming form the chimney. There was no one at home at the time, so firefighters forcibly entered the structure to investigate. The situation was put under control at 5:10 pm and all equipment left the scene at 5:27 pm. No damage was reported to the structure. The SO was advised that the home had to be accessed to check out the situation.

08-395 Thursday December 18th at 6:24 am Station 19 was dispatched to a single vehicle MVC on I-71 mm 152 to 153. Rescue 11 responded at 6:33 am only ot be cancelled at 6:34 am returning to quarters at 6:37 am.

08-396 Thursday December 18th at 7:58 am Tanker 14 was dispatched MA to Station 39 for a possible house fire at 5055 Road 23 in Harmony Twp. Tanker 14 responded at 8:01 and arriving on the scene at 8:12 am. Tanker 14 was released at 8:22 am returning to quarters at 8:36 am.

08-397 Thursday December 18th at 1:15 pm Station 19, 29 and 59 with squad 1 and Medic 9 were dispatched to a “BOX 125 Mt. Gilead Middle School” at 145 North Cherry Street. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 1:18, met with PD Chief Zerman and was told that it was a fire drill for December. All units returned to quarters at 1:30 pm.

08-398 Thursday December 18th at 8:05 pm Station 19 was requested to assist Squad 1 at 371 South Delaware Street. Three firefighters responded in POV’s to the scene and assisted. All firefighters left the scene at 8:40pm.

08-399 Saturday December 20th at 3:35 pm Rescue 11, Engine 15, Tanker 14, Tanker 24 and Tanker 124 form Caledonia were dispatched to a possible house fire at 2635 St Rt 95. Firefighter 1907 arrived on the scene and determined that the chimney was on fire and the structure was not. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire. The chimney was declared unsafe for use as it is. All equipment returned to quarters at 5:00 pm.

08-400 Saturday December 20th at 6:43 pm Station 19 was dispatched to a fire alarm at 371 South Delaware Street apartment 107. After call back, the occupant declared that the alarm was from smoke in the kitchen from cooking. All equipment was cancelled at 6:46 pm.

08-401 Monday December 22nd at 7:57 am Rescue 11 was dispatched to 15 South Main Street for an unknown odor. Firefighters checked out the entire building and found nothing of danger. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 8:30 am.

08-402 Monday December 22nd at 10:29 am Rescue 11 responded MA with St 59 to I-71 mm 157 for a truck rollover in the median. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 10:43 am. Disconnected the vehicle battery and returned to quarters at 11:30 am.

08-403 Monday December 22nd at 12:37 pm Rescue 11 was dispatched to an MVC tanker truck rollover on St Rt 42 South. The load was checked for leakage, the fuel tanks were not leaking. The driver was not entrapped and walked from the vehicle. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 1:30 pm.

08-404 Tuesday December 23rd at 12:31 pm Tanker 14 was dispatched MA with St 49 for a chimney fire at 4891 US 288. Tanker 14 was cancelled at 12:46 pm and returned to quarters at 1:01 pm.

08-405 Tuesday December 23rd at 2:01 pm A “BOX 125” was dispatched for the Mt. Gilead High School at 338 Park Avenue. Rescue 11 responded at 2:02 pm and arrived on the scene at 2:03 pm. Workers on the scene advised that a domestic water line had frozen and set off the water flow alarm indicating that there was a fire and water was flowing. The workers contained the water and were in the process of repairing the line. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 2:20 pm. All MA equipment was cancelled at 2:02 pm.

08-406 Tuesday December 23rd at 7:38 pm Rescue 11 was dispatched to an MVC at 4770 Road 20. Medic 9 arrived on the scene at 7:50 pm and cancelled Rescue 11. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 8:04 pm.

08-407 Wednesday December 24th at 8:57 pm Tanker 14 was dispatched MA with Station 49 for a possible structure fire at 9357 St Rt 19 in North Bloomfield Township. Tanker 14 arrived on the scene at 9:14 pm and was released at 9:33 pm returning to quarters at 10:01 pm.

08-408 Friday December 26th at 11:16 am Station 19 was dispatched to North Main Street to assist the squad with an unconscious / unresponsive person. Upon arrival all firefighters were cancelled at 11:18 am.

08-409 Friday December 26th at 12:46 pm Engine 10 was dispatched to assist removing the person from the house on North Main Street to the squad. Engine 10 returned to quarters at 1:50 pm.

08-410 Friday December 26th at 2:20 pm Station 19 was dispatched to a working fire at 213 North Boundary Street in Edison. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 2:28 pm finding a working upstairs bedroom and content fire with fire coming out the south window. Firefighters entered the structure to attack the fire, but were driven back with the intense heat and smoke. An attack with a 1 ¾” pre-connect line was made from the outside knocking down the main body of fire so the firefighters could reenter the upstairs. The fire was brought under control at 3:59 pm. Firefighters remained on the scene until 5:19 pm when the fire was declared extinguished. Engine 15 and Tower 18 responded to the scene with Tower 18 making an access hole to the attic knocking the fire down to assist he interior crew. Foam was also used to control the fire. Engine 15 was dispatched to a second working fire aided by MA from Station 29 at 3:20 pm. This fire was investigated by the State Fire Marshal and the Monday Fire crew, the fire is still under investigation.

08-411 Friday December 26th at 3:40 pm Station 29 was dispatched to 4208 C R 125 MA for Station 19 for a second working house fire. Tanker 24, Tanker 34 and 36, Tanker 314 from Ashley, Engine 311 as a TIR engine with Engine 15 responded. The first unit Tanker 24 arrived on the scene at 3:51 pm finding the garage fully involved with the back and attic of the house on fire. Firefighters made entry in through the front door bringing the fire under control at approximately 5:51 pm. Firefighters requested Chief 101 respond to the scene from the previous house fire. The State Fire Marshal was called to investigate the fire. The State Fire Investigator would arrive on Monday. The fire was still under investigation.

08-412 Saturday December 27th at 7:51 am firefighters were dispatched to East High Street to assist squad 1 with a person in an upstairs bedroom who was unconscious and unresponsive. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 7:56 am and assisted with the patient returning to their homes at 8:11 am.

08-413 Saturday December 27th at 9:00 am Engine 15 responded to 224 South Boundary Street in Edison for a CO check. The children of the lady occupant had given her a CO detector for Christmas and it was alarming. She took it out side and it would stop, then when she reentered the alarm would sound again. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 9:10 am. Firefighters with SCBA’s donned entered the residence getting a reading of 20 ppm throughout the main part of the house. After investigation it was determined that the gas kitchen range was the culprit so the gas was shut off to the range. The CO count immediately started dropping to a “0” reading. Chief 101 advised the resident to have the stove repaired or replaced. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 9:32 am.

08-414 Saturday December 27th at 11:40 pm Tanker 14 was dispatched to C R 95 MA with Station 59 for a barn fire with machinery inside. Tanker 14 was cancelled at 12:03 am and returned to quarters at 12:14 am.

08-415 Monday December 29th at 3:06 pm Rescue 11 was returning from the investigations of the house fires over the weekend and went to check out two complaints for an illegal burn at 361 Chartwell. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 3:06 pm and determined that there was trash in the fire due to the smell and the observance of tin cans in and around the fire. The fire was extinguished at 3:23 pm and Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 3:38 pm. A reminder that it is illegal to burn trash anywhere anytime, but a fire inside the city limits is only allowed for the preparation of food. State EPA Regulations, State Fire Code and City ordinance requirements.

08-416 Wednesday December 31st at 12:20 am Tanker 14 responded to 6821 Road 50 MA for a structure fire. At 12:33 am Chief 501 cancelled all MA equipment and Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 12:43 am.

08-417 Wednesday December 31st at 9:25 am Engine 15 and Tanker 14 were dispatched to1199 Salem Road MA with Station 100 (First Consolidated, Caledonia) for a house fire. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 9:40 am and assisted with extinguishment, both units were released at 10:35 am returning to quarters at 11:30 am.
