08-353 Saturday November 1st at 2:41 pm Station 19 was dispatched to a grass fire at 4915 Road 126. As Brush 12, Tanker 14 and Engine 15 responded MA was requested from Station 29 for a Brush Truck and a Tanker. Units arrived on the scene at 2:49 pm. The fire was brought under control at 3:25 pm and all units returned to quarters at 3:47 pm.

 

08-354 Saturday November 1st at 5:10 pm Brush 12 responded MA to Station 100 (1st Consolidated) the intersection of St Rt 95 and Salem Road for an grass fire. Brush 12 arrived on the scene at 5:29 pm and was released at 5:54 pm returning to quarters at 16:09 pm.

 

08-355 Sunday November 2nd at 8:35 am firefighters responded in their private vehicles to assist Squad 1 with a patient. All firefighters were released at 8:55 am.

 

08-356 Monday November 3rd at 11:38 am Rescue 11 responded to 335 Park Avenue to assist the City PD. Rescue 11 was released at 11:50 and returned to quarters at 11:52 am.

 

08-357 Monday November 3rd at 1:29 pm Rescue 11 responded to a reported MVC on I-71 mm 156. Rescue 11 responded at 1:20 pm and was cancelled by OSP at 1:40 pm.

 

08-358 Monday November 3rd at 1:45 pm Rescue 11 and Brush 12 responded MA to Station 49 for a grass fire at 8716 St Rt 61. Units arrived on the scene at 2:06 pm. Rescue 11 was cancelled at 1:55 pm and Brush 12 assisted with extinguishment and was released at 2:24 pm and returning to quarters at 2:45 pm.

 

08-359 Monday November 3rd at 3:21 pm Rescue 11 and Brush 12 responded to an grass fire at 4559 St Rt 42 arriving on the scene at 3:29 pm. The fire was extinguished at 3:39 pm and all equipment returned to quarters at 3:46 pm.

 

08-360 Monday November 3rd at 7:23 pm Brush 12 responded to a possible illegal fire at 5639 Road 30. Brush 12 arrived on the scene at 7:32 pm to investigate and it was determined that the fire was not illegal. All units returned to quarters at 7:39 pm.

 

08-361 Tuesday November 4th at 3:47 am Brush 12 responded with the TIC to 533 Lee Street to assist the City Police with locating a suspect. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 4:05 am.

 

08-362 Tuesday November 4th at 9:07 am Rescue 11 responded MA with Station 39 to 6166 St Rt 95 for a gas leak caused by an excavator digging a trench. The line belonged to Consolidated Gas and they were on the scene at 9:55 am. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 10:08 am.

 

08-363 Tuesday November 4th at 1:38 pm Brush 12 responded MA with Station 100 (First Consolidated, Caledonia) for a grass fire at 5600 St Rt 95 and Salem Road. Brush 12 was cancelled at 1:42 pm and returned to quarters at 1:50 pm.

 

08-364 Wednesday November 5th at 12:53 pm Rescue 11 and Brush 12 responded MA with Station 49 for a grass fire at 4937 Road 35. All units were cancelled at 1:08 pm and returned to quarters at 1:30 pm.

 

08-365 Friday November 7th at 4:44 pm Rescue 11 and Engine 15 responded to I-71 mm 154 for an MVC with the car on its side in the woods. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 5:03 pm. There were no injuries in the crash and units returned to quarters at 5:36 pm.

 

08-366 Monday November 10th at 6:32 am Rescue 11 responded to 4331 St Rt 61 South for a car hit the rear of a garbage truck. The driver was taken to MCH. Firefighters assessed the scene and determined that there were no threats of fire and returned to quarters at 7:00 am.

08-367 Monday November 17th at 6:26 am Tanker 14 and Engine 15 were dispatched to 3759 Road 170 MA with Station 29 and 39 for a house fire. Engine 15 was dispatched as the RIT engine. RIT Stands for Rapid Intervention Team and their responsibility is to be ready to enter a burning structure for rescue of any firefighters at any time during an incident. Engine 15 and Tanker 14 were released at 6:57 am. Engine 15 responded to I-71 for reports of two MVC’s.

 

08-368 Monday November 17th at Engine 15 and Rescue 11 were dispatched MA with Station 59 for two reported MVC’s on I-71 at mm 149 and 156. Units responded South to the 149 mm and found nothing. Engine 15 responded North to the 156 mm and found the described vehicle in the median against the guardrail. There were no injuries and all equipment returned to quarters at 7:45 am.

 

08-369 Monday November 17th at 10:55 Rescue 11 responded MA with Medic 1 and Medic 9 to Dogwood Lane for assistance. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 10:58 am and was released at 11:07 am returning to quarters at 11:09 am.

 

08-370 Monday November 17th at 10:13 pm Rescue 11, Engine 15 and Engine 30 responded to a reported MVC at the 151 mm on I-71. Engine 30 entered I-71 ahead of Rescue 11 so Rescue 11 staged at the intersection while Engine 15 returned to quarters. Engine 30 drove to the 158 mm and found nothing. While Rescue 11 was staging, OSP pulled up and asked us to respond to the 154 mm for a reported MVC involving a truck. After investigating nothing was found. Engine 30 was dispatched to the 145 mm for a truck into a tree. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:12 pm. After cleaning Rescue 11 all members left the station at midnight.

 

08-371 Tuesday November 18th at 8:24 am Rescue 11 was dispatched to a reported MVC at 905 High Street at the Golf Course. Units checked the area and questioned dispatch if this might be in Marion County at the Golf Course. It was determined that the crash was in Marion County. Rescue returned to quarters at 8:39 am. While enroute to quarters, Station 49 was dispatched to a car versus train on road 59. Rescue 11 stood by at Station 19 for a possible response.

 

08-372 Tuesday November 18th at 8:39 am Rescue 11 was requested to respond the car versus train incident on road 59. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 8:49 am. Rescue 11 was advised that the car did not need any attention. Rescue 11 backed out of the scene area and waited until Rescue 41 and Tanker 44 arrived on the scene and then returned to quarters at 9:45 am.

 

08-373 Tuesday November 18th at 2:19 pm Rescue 11 responded MA with Engine 30 to mm 150 on I-71 for a box truck into the guardrail and bridge. The driver was uninjured, but the truck had a small fuel leak. Firefighters from shut off the cross over valve to shut off the fuel and attempted to plug the leak. The leak was only a drip. All equipment left the scene at 2:50 pm returning to quarters at 3:19 pm.

 

 

08-374 Thursday November 20th at 4:56 pm Station 19, Engine 23 and Engine 50 were dispatched to 600 Douglas Street for an activated fire alarm. Chief 101 went direct to the scene at 4:57 pm determined the apartment number and investigated canceling all mutual aid equipment at 4:58 pm. The resident of the apartment had burned food on the stove and said that the alarm had reset so she did not call. I advised her that the alarm did not stop the response of equipment. All equipment returned to quarters at 5:10 pm.

 

08-375 Thursday November 20th at 6:54 pm Station 19 was dispatched for an electrical fire at 133 South Rich Street. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 6:59 pm and determined that the main fuse box for apartment #2 was on fire. Fire fighters removed the meter for the apartment and extinguished the fire. The electric company was dispatched to the scene and replaced apartment #1 and #3 meters. The maintenance man was on the scene to repair the problem. All equipment returned to quarters at 7:33 pm.

 

08-376 Friday November 21st at 7:34 am Chief 101 was dispatched to 338 Park Avenue, Main kitchen for a smell of smoke and a melted heater plug. Chief 101 arrived on the scene at 7:39 am to investigate. The heater plug was melted and the strip plug was melted also. All were advised that the heater needed to be plugged directly into s receptacle. Chief 101 returned to the station at 7:52 am.

 

08-377 Monday November 24th at 10:00 pm Rescue 11 was dispatched to a gas leak in a house at 139 North Vine Street. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 10:07 pm and determined that there was a leak at the water heater control piping that had been replaced earlier in the day. Firefighters checked the line but could not find the leak. Firefighters shut off the gas supply to the WH and advised the owner that he needed to check for leaks in the line. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 10:28 pm. After cleanup firefighters left the station at 10:45 pm.

 

08-378 Tuesday November 25th at 10:34 am Rescue 11, Rescue 51, Engine 50, Engine 30, EMS9, Squad 1 and Squad 5 were dispatched to an MVC rollover on I-71 at mm 157.5 South bound. Medic 9 arrived on the scene at 10:48 am and advised that this was a non-injury rollover crash and cancelled all other units except Engine 30 since they were closest to the scene. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:08 am.

 

08-379 Wednesday November 26th at 2:49 pm Rescue 11 responded with Medic 1 and 9 for a 2-car MVC at MCH entrance. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to MCH. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 3:00 pm.

 

08-380 Thursday November 27th at 10:32 Rescue 11 responded to 371 South Delaware Street for an activated fire alarm. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 10:38 am and found the pull station ion the mechanical room had been pulled. The pull station was reset and maintenance was advised of corrective action needed to remedy the problem of people obtaining access to the room. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:08 am.

 

08-381 Thursday November 27th at 11:43 am Brush 12 and another firefighter in his POV responded MA to Squad 1 for an unconscious, unresponsive, non-breather at 101 Home Road. Firefighters assisted driving the squad to MCH. All firefighters returned to quarters at 12:41 pm.
