08-321 Wednesday October 1st at 7:45 Rescue 11
and Engine 15 responded to a reported alarm at 3613 Road 115,
Gilead Christian School. Squad 2 arrived on the scene and determined
that the alarm was accidental and cancelled all units. Rescue
11 and Engine 15 returned to quarters at 7:53 pm.
08-322 Thursday October 2nd at 5:58 pm Tanker 14
responded MA with Station 59 for multiple structure fires at
8030 SR 314. After hauling several loads of water, Tanker 14
returned to quarters at 8:43 pm.
08-323 Tuesday October 7th at 3:45 pm Rescue 11
was dispatched to an MVC at 3055 St Rt 95 between roads 128 and
27. While enroute unit 1912 arrived on the scene with Medic 1
and 9 and cancelled Rescue 11 at 3:53 pm with no injuries and
nothing leaking from the vehicle. Rescue 11 returned to quarters
at 3:56 pm.
08-324 Friday October 10th at 6:00 pm Station 19
was dispatched to I-71 mm 157 MA with Station 59 for an MVC.
Squad 1 arrived on the scene and cancelled Rescue 11 at 6:14
pm. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 6:35 pm.
08-325 Friday October 10th at 7:53 Station 19 was
put on stand-by for a possible gas leak at 5255 St Rt 95 Consolidated
Electric. An employee of the gas company closed the valve and
the fire department was cancelled at 8:00 pm.
08-326 Saturday October 11th at 1:51 pm firefighters
from Station 19 were dispatched to road 128 to assist the squad
with a victim at the residence. Firefighters arrived on the scene
at 1:55 pm and were released at 2:20 pm.
08-327 Saturday October 11th at 3:33 Station 19
was dispatched to wires down at 4770 road 20. Brush 12 responded
non emergency to investigate. When Brush 12 arrived on the scene
and determined the pole numbers, Consolidated Electric was notified
and advised that they were 15 minutes from the scene. The electric
company arrived on the scene at 3:55 pm and Brush 12 returned
to quarters at 4:17 pm.
08-328 Saturday October 11th at 7:05 pm Station
19 was dispatched to a lawn mower fire at 5682 St Rt 95. Rescue
11 arrived on the scene at 7:18 pm. The fire was extinguished
and Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 7:47 pm.
08-329 Sunday October 12th at 1:13 am Station 19,
29 and 39 were dispatched to a working house fire at 3946 road
124. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 1:20 am. Firefighters
battled the fire until 2:08 am when it was brought under control
and extinguished at 3:28 am. All equipment left the scene at
3:44 am. The fire is under investigation by Cardington Fire Department.
08-330 Sunday October 12th at 1:03 pm Rescue 11
responded to 841 Marion Road Woodside Village for an odor of
gas. Firefighters investigated the area with meters and could
not find an odor. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 1:26 pm.
08-331 Monday October 13th at 6:49 pm Brush 12
responded non-emergency to 4383 S R 95 past the State Park for
smoke blowing across the roadway. Firefighters had difficulty
finding the source of the fire. Once located they advised the
owner that he needed to have a camp fire permit to be compliant
with State Fire Codes and the Ohio EPA burning Regulations. Brush
12 returned to quarters at 7:14 pm.
08-332 Tuesday October 14th at 3:10 pm responded
MA to Station 59 with Rescue 11 and Tanker 14 to a reported trailer
fire at 6882 Road 22. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 3:23
pm, attacked the fire with three firefighters manning a 1 ¾
rep-connected hose. The fire was put under control at 3:45 pm.
Upon investigation the fire had started from a previously started
trash fire behind the structure. That fire was also extinguished.
Rescue 11 and Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 4:10 pm.
08-333 Wednesday October 15th at 3:59 pm Tanker
14 responded MA to Station 49 for a house fire at 8320 Road 40.
Tanker 14 arrived on the scene at 4:15 pm and was released at
5:18 pm returning to quarters at 5:34 pm.
08-334 Friday October 17th at 1:34 pm Rescue 11
and Engine15 responded I-71, mm 151 for a two car MVC where one
vehicle had been torn in half strewn over an area of 100 feet
square. The driver of that vehicle was uninjured and walked away
from the vehicle. The second driver was transported to MCH. Rescue
11 and Engine 15 returned to quarters at 1:30 pm.
08-335 Friday October 17th at 3:11 pm Rescue 11
responded to a reported gas line cut and leaking at 829 Westview
Drive. Upon arrival at 3:15 pm the leak could be heard from the
road. The 4 gas line was located 100 yards to the west,
back of the property. Firefighters stood by on the scene until
Consolidated Gas employees shut off the gas flow. Rescue 11 returned
to quarters at 3:59 pm.
08-336 Sunday October 19th at 2:16 pm Rescue 11,
Brush 12, Tanker 14, Brush 32 and 52 responded to a reported
cornfield fire at 3935 Road 98. The fire was approximately 75
feet into the field from the south. Brush 12 drove into the field
and cut the fire off by circling spraying water to the center.
The fire was brought under control at 2:59 pm. All units returned
to quarters at 3:12 pm.
08-337 Monday October 20th at 1:38 pm Rescue 11
responded to 4777 St Rt 61 South for an MVC rollover. Rescue
11 arrived on the scene at 1:45 pm finding a vehicle had struck
a tree and flipped over onto the southbound lane. Firefighters
assisted EMS with loading the patient into the squad. Firefighters
assisted with traffic control until the OSP arrived on the scene
at 2:10 pm. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 2:19 pm.
08-338 Wednesday October 22nd at 11:12 am Rescue
11 responded to 81 North Walnut Street to investigate a report
of leaking freon from her refrigerator. Firefighters investigated
and determined that there was no leak. Rescue 11 returned to
quarters at 11:38 am.
08-339 Wednesday October 22nd at 12:34 pm Rescue
11 responded to 75 South Cherry Street for a reported natural
gas odor in the building. Firefighters checked the structure
and found nothing. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 1:00 pm.
08-340 Wednesday October 22nd at 6:22 pm equipment
Mt. Gilead, Cardington, Iberia and Caledonia were dispatched
to a working fire at 5918 road 60. At 6:22 pm it was reported
that the neighbor advised that the car was in the garage and
the person living there might be home. Engine 112 from 1st Consolidated
arrived on the scene at 6:33 pm, Rescue 11 arrived at 6:35 pm,
Tanker 14 and 24, Engine 23 arrived on the scene at 6:38 pm.
Firefighters laid attack lines to the front and rear of the structure
to attempt to make entry. The structure was fully involved, the
garage roof had fallen in and the car was burning. There were
two heating oil tanks in the garage on fire. Firefighters extinguished
the fire in the front room area to gain entry to the first floor
and proceeded to extinguish the first floor area. The fire was
contained at 8:32 pm. At 8:35 pm firefighters located the victim
of the fire in the basement area and the State Fire Marshall
was requested for investigation. The State Fire Marshall fire
investigators arrived on the scene at 9:42 pm. The fire investigation
lasted until 3:17 am on Thursday October 23rd. Firefighters cleaned
and replaced equipment to get Engine 15 back in service by 4:00
am. State Fire Marshall determined that the fire had started
on the breeze way between the house and the garage. The fire
loss is still under investigation.
08-341 Friday October 24th at Rescue 11 responded
MA with Station 39/2, Engine 30, for an MVC with a semi off the
road into the woods. Engine 30 arrived on the scene at 12:48
am and Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 12:53 am. The driver
of the rig was uninjured. Firefighters from Engine 30 and Rescue
11 checked to see if there was any leakage of other dangers.
Rescue 11 was released by Assistant Chief 302 and returned to
quarters at 1:26 am.
08-342 Sunday October 26th at 2:05 am Rescue 11
responded to I-71 mm 156 for an MVC rollover. When OSP arrived
on the scene and advised that Rescue 11 could cancel at 2:21
am. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 2:36 am.
08-343 Sunday October 26th at 2:00 pm Station 19
was dispatched to assist Squad 1 with moving a patient from the
house to the squad. All fire fighters were released at 2:08 pm.
08-344 Monday October 27th at 6:57 am Station 19,
29 and Station 59 were dispatched to Woodside Village for a fire
alarm. As units were arriving on the scene it was determined
that it was an alarm malfunction. All units returned to quarters
at 7:19 am.
08-345 Monday October 27th at 7:52 pm Rescue 11
responded to a reported MVC at 5012 St Rt 95. Rescue 11 arrived
on the scene at 8:01 pm and was released at 8:11 pm returning
to quarters at 8:17 pm.
08-346 Thursday October 30th at 1:30 pm Rescue
11 responded as a first responded to St Rt 95 for a possible
heart with Medic 103 from 1st Consolidated Fire Department. Rescue
11 returned to quarters at 2:32 pm.
08-347 Thursday October 30th at 4:10 pm Rescue
11 responded to a reported leaking tanker truck at 5146 St Rt
42. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 4:17 pm and determined
that the leaking substance was crude oil and there was approximately
1 gallon. EMA 100 determined that the material could be covered
with an absorbent and released Rescue 11. Rescue 11 returned
to quarters at 4:37 pm.
08-348 Thursday October 30th at 4:36 pm Brush 12,
Tanker 14 and Rescue 11 were dispatched to a grass fire at 5585
road 104. First units arrived on the scene at 4:44 pm. The fire
was placed under control at 4:45 pm and a signal O
was called at 5:02 pm. All units returned to quarters at 5:08
pm.
08-349 Friday October 31st at 11:33 am Rescue 11
responded to a reported MVC involving a car and a semi. Rescue
11 responded at 11:34 am and was cancelled at 11:34 am while
still on station.
08-350 Friday October 31st at 2:28 pm Rescue 11
responded to an MVC at 4683 road 115. Rescue 11 arrived on the
scene at 2:35 pm and assisted with the victim from the crash.
Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 2:53 pm.
08-351 Friday October 31st at 2:58 pm Brush 12,
Tanker 14 and Rescue 11 responded to 2209 road 69 for a reported
grass fire. Units arrived on the scene at 3:06 pm and the fire
was declared a signal O at 3:38 pm. All units returned
to quarters at 3:49 pm.
08-352 Friday October 31st at 3:23 pm Rescue 11
was dispatched to an MVC rollover at 4695 US 61. Rescue 11 arrived
on the scene at 3:26 pm, assisted with patients and returned
to quarters at 3:46 pm.
