10-002 Saturday January 2nd at 5:57 pm Firefighters were requested to Bank Street to assist Medic 1 with moving a patient from the house to the squad. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 6:02 pm and assisted with carrying the patient down a long incline from the house to the squad. Firefighters and Medic 1 left the scene at 6:11 pm. 10-003 Saturday January 2nd at 10:57 pm firefighters were requested to assist Medic 1 on Bank Street with returning the patient home from the hospital. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 11:03 pm and returned to quarters at 11:30 pm. 10-004 Sunday January 3rd at 9:45 pm Firefighters responded with Medic 1 to Lee Street to assist with a patient down upstairs. Firefighters and Medic 1 arrived on scene at 9:48 pm and found a victim unconscious upstairs. Firefighters assist with the patient and moving the victim to the squad. Firefighters left the scene at 10:15 pm. 10-005 Monday January 4th at 12:55 pm Rescue 11 responded to 4789 Road 112 for a car fire. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 1:05 pm and found a vehicle with fire underneath and inside the floor of the back seat. Firefighters extinguished the fire at 1:41 pm returning to quarters at 1:55 pm. The vehicle was not insured. The fire was caused when the owner tried to move it out of the space it was in. Heat from the exhaust caught the grass on fire under the vehicle. 10-006 Wednesday January 6th at 11:39 am Brush 12 responded to assist Medic 1 out of the snow in a patients driveway. Brush 12 arrived on the scene at 11:50 am and had the squad out at 12:02 pm. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 12:35 pm. 10-007 Thursday January 7th at Rescue 11 responded to South Street to investigate the odor of natural gas. Firefighters checked the area and could smell a slight odor, but were unable to determine the location. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 9:17 am. 10-008 Thursday January 7th at 2:41 pm Rescue 11 responded to I-712 mm 152 SB for an MVC. Medic 1 and OSP arrived on the scene and determined that there were no injuries. Rescue 11 stood by at the on ramp until released at 2:53 pm arriving on Station at 3:06 pm. > 10-009 Friday January 8th at 10:44 am Rescue 11, Medic 1 and Medic 9 responded to 132 West High Street for an activated CO detector. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 10:46 am, investigated the house finding no CO. It was determined that the unit would sound an alarm if it was not plugged in all the way. The unit was beside the front door where people had been entering and exiting. The meter was moved to a different location and there was no alarm. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:30 am. 10-010 Friday January 8th at 5:54 pm Firefighters were requested to assist Medic 1 with moving a patient from the house to the squad. Firefighters arrived on scene at 5:58 pm and left the scene at 6:10 pm. 10-011 Saturday January 9th at 3:20 pm Firefighters were requested at 720 North Main Street for assistance with an unconscious person. Medic 1 arrived on scene and the victim was now alert. Firefighters cancelled and returned to quarters at 3:32 pm. 10-012 Saturday January 9th at 5:09 pm Engine 15 and Tanker 14 were dispatched MA with Station 39 for a working structure fire. Engine 15 arrived on scene at 5:25 just behind Engine 33 at 5:20 pm. Firefighters worked from the A and C sides to extinguish the fire. The fire was brought under control at 6:29 pm. Engine 5 and Tanker 14 were released at 6:48 pm returning to quarters at 7:02 pm. Firefighters cleaned equipment and left the station at 7:30 pm. 10-013 Sunday January 10th at 9:30 am Firefighters and Medic 1 were dispatched to Gilead Friends Church arriving at 9:38 am. Firefighters assisted with moving the patient from the mezzanine 9:49 am returning to quarters at 9:58, cleaning Brush 12 and leaving the station at 10:15 am. 10-014 Sunday January 10th at 6:46 pm Rescue 11 and Engine 15 responded to 600 Douglas Street Apartment B-6 for an activated fire alarm. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 6:54 pm and determined that the resident had accidentally pulled the alarm. All units returned to quarters at 7:15 pm. After cleaning the units firefighters left the station at 7:20 pm. 10-015 Monday January 11th at 10:20 am Station 19, 39 and 59 were dispatched to a working house fire at 5226 Road 115. Rescue 11, Engine 15, Tanker 14, Brush 12, Engine 50, Tanker 14, Tanker 54, Tanker 34, Rescue 51, Medic 1, 2 and 9 responded to a working house fire. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 10:30 am to find the East end of the house fully involved in fire. Firefighters attacked the fire through the front door and front window containing the fire at 12:41 pm. Firefighters remained on scene until 12:42 pm when the fire was declared out. Firefighters cleaned equipment until 3:45 pm when everything was put back in ready condition. 10-016 Tuesday January 12th at 10:09 am Rescue 11, Engine 15 and Engine 23 were dispatched to a fire in at 720 North Main Street, Lot #68. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 10:13 am to find smoke in the home with the detector activated. Occupant said that he had checked the furnace and could not find anything. Burning papers were found beside the computer where apparently ashes from a cigarette had fallen igniting the paper. The fire was out at that time. Firefighters investigated the area and determined that there was no fire and that everything was operable. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 10:32 am. 10-017 Thursday January 14th at 2:27 pm Rescue 11 and Engine 15 responded with Medic 1, 2, 5 and 9 for an MVC at the intersection of State Rout 421 North and County Road 103. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 2:31 pm to find the driver of one vehicle was entrapped and needed extricated. Two helicopters were requested with one diverting to MCH. The roof of the car was removed to allow the patient to be removed in a straight line with his spine. Victim was removed by 2:48 pm. Medflight 1 arrived on scene at 3:07 pm and lifted off the scene at 3:10 pm. All equipment left he scene at 3:17 pm returning to quarters at 3:31 pm with clean up taking until 4:00 pm. 10-018 Friday January 15th at 7:46 pm Tanker 14 was dispatched with Station 59 for a structure fire at 7252 Road 80. Station 59 personnel arrived on scene at 7:51 pm and cancelled Tanker 14. Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 7:51 pm. 10-019 Saturday January 23rd at 11:46 am Station 19 was dispatched for a residential fire alarm at 4745 Road 112. Prior to firefighters responding the owner advised that the alarm was accidental and all equipment was cancelled. 10-020 Sunday January 24th at 12:30 pm Station 59, 49, 39 and 19 were dispatched for a working horse barn fire at 5657 Road 231. Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 4:45 pm. 10-021 Monday January 25th at 10:15 am Rescue 11 was dispatched to a tree on fire at 185 Cedar Street. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 10:20 am finding a tall pine tree had fallen over into electric lines and the top 6 feet had burned off and was now laying across all three electric lines burning and arching intently. Firefighters blocked off the roadway for traffic and stood by until the limb burned off and fell to the ground at 11:15 am. At that point the power company still had to respond from Ashley. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:30 am. We believe that the tree tipped over due to so much rain that the ground became very soft. 10-022 Tuesday January 27th at 5:40 pm Station 19 was requested to assist Medic 1 with lifting a patient from the house to the squad. Firefighters arrived at 5:43 pm and had the patient loaded at 5:48 pm. 10-023 Thursday January 28th at 8:55 am Rescue 11 was dispatched to a two vehicle MVC with one injury. A car had rear ended the Farmers Co-op gas truck as it was stopped at the railroad tracks. Firefighters cut the battery cables and assisted with the patient. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 9:30 am. 10-024 Thursday January 28th at 10:06 am Rescue 11 and Engine 15 responded to the area of Road 9 and Road 129 for a car off the roadway in the ditch. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 10:14 am, check on the patient and waited until OSP could arrive on scene. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:00 am. 10-025 Thursday January 28th at 6:09 pm Tanker 14 was dispatched MA with Iberia Fire Department for a fire at 7819 SR 19, Northmore School Construction site. A gas heater was burning inside the construction area. Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 7:00 pm. 10-026 Thursday January 28th at 10:28 pm Rescue 11 and Engine 15 responded to North Gate Trailer park for an activated fire alarm at lot #3. Rescue 11 arrived on scene at 10:38 pm finding that the detector had a low battery and was chirping not alarming. All units returned to quarters at 11:15 pm. 10-027 Friday January 29th at 3:12 pm Rescue 11, Engine 15, Tanker 14, Engine 23, Tanker 24, Engine 311 were dispatched to smoke showing at a garage at 3613 Road 115. Upon investigating the scene it was determined that the owner had started a trash fire in a pit inside the garage causing smoke to fill the structure and come out the eves and all cracks around the building. The fire was extinguished and all equipment returned to quarters at 4:10 pm. 10-028 Saturday January 30th at 11:59 am Engine 15 responded to 527 Lee Street for a dumpster fire. Chief 101 responded direct to the scene and found a small fire in the bottom of the dumpster caused by someone dumping ashes from a charcoal cook fire. Engine 15 arrived on scene at 12:01 pm and extinguished the fire. All units returned to quarters at 12:30 pm. 10-029 Sunday January 31st at 10:51 am Tanker 14 and Engine 15 responded to 6530 County Road 22 for a working house fire MA with Station 59. Tanker 14 hauled 4 loads of water and Engine 15s crew assisted with extinguishment. Engine 15 was released at 2:59 pm and returned to quarters while Tanker 14 was released at 4:03 pm and returned to quarters. All equipment was cleaned and ready for the next response at 4:30 pm. 10-030 Sunday January 31st at 3:24 pm Rescue 11 responded to 337 West High Street for an electrical fire in a receptacle. The resident quickly shut off the electrical circuit and firefighters checked the area with the TC and could not find any significant heat signature. All equipment returned to quarters at 3:36 pm. 10-031 Sunday January 31st at 6:54 pm Engine 15 was requested back to 6530 C R 22 to assist Station 59 with some hot spots. Engine 15 arrived on scene at 7:03 pm and remained on scene until 7:50 when released to return to quarters. Firefighters remained on station cleaning until 8:45 pm.
